 I truly believe in the interconnectedness of humans. While we are unique in culture, race, class, age, gender and geography. But the elements of our sameness is what drive my interests as a filmmaker. Longing, love, loss, suffering, resilience, and the desire to be seen and understood. Elements of what make us uniquely human.

I experienced this long before becoming a filmmaker. In my career in international public health - across the globe - women and girls have dreams often thwarted by one or many of the elements that undermine women’s power.

I am drawn to characters like Luna Magica - the female lucha Libra wrestler in Mexico City - struggling to be a star in the sexist world of Mexican wrestling while trying to support her family, or
